Selling my 1966 Jaguar XKE OTS Series 1. The color combination is a nice & desirable one featuring British Green exterior paint over tan leather & tan convertible top. These are the original colors and this car has never ever been restored. It is very clean, it has no rust, it is an enjoyed vehicle as opposed to the regular garage queens which are usually advertised online. The car is all original except an engine overhaul which has been done 7 years ago which included taking the power train apart to re seal everything, cleaning, replacing the clutch & slave cylinder, cluster gear, bearings, layshaft, and seals. According to the previous owners this has been done mainly because some oil drips appeared and to make sure that the car can be enjoyed.
I never planned to sell this car ever but unfortunately for me, and fortunately for my possible buyer, the car is in the market. As mentioned before the car has not been restored but work has been done to it such as the powertrain refurbishment along the brake & lights, the body seals have been replaced in the nineties.
The interior still looks nice, nothing spectacular when it comes to wear, but the spec is beautiful. The tan leather looks pretty solid and so is the tan carpet & the brown floor mats.
The engine and transmission have been refurbished 7 years ago and everything runs strong in this department.
Things that are not quite right about the car:
-a creased antenna (replacement included);
-some stitches in the canvas are not OK (I can send some photos), but it is not something overly complicated or bad;
-there is a set of aftermarket speakers installed (working as they should but those are not OEM elements) against the transmission tunnel;
All in all this is a clean car, a good working example of a solid Jaguar XKE in original condition.
The car comes with a clear NY title, service records to back the 90,000 miles, owner's manual and original tool box + the antenna I mentioned above.
